Spider

Costume Safety Tips

While it’s fun to dress your dog up, it’s essential to keep their safety and comfort top of mind. Here are some impawtant tips to make sure your dog has a positive experience:

Keep it comfortable

Make sure the costume isn’t too tight or restrictive. Your dog should be able to move freely, breathe easily, and wag their tail without any trouble.

Watch for small parts

Avoid costumes with small or loose parts that your dog might chew off or accidentally swallow.

Monitor their behaviour

Some dogs may not enjoy wearing costumes. If your pup seems stressed or uncomfortable, it’s best to let them go au naturel and skip the costume altogether.

Stay visible

If you’re out and about after dark, make sure your dog’s costume has reflective elements, or consider adding some, so they stay visible to you and others.

ID Tag Access

Make sure your dog’s collar and ID tag remain visible and accessible at all times. Even when dressed up, your pup should have proper identification in case they get separated from you during an event or trick-or-treat outing.
