When the temperature rises, our four-legged friends need an extra dose of cooling down.

Here are four creative ways to keep your dog happy in the heat while providing mental stimulation at the same time.

    1. Beef Bone Broth

Broth isn't just for drinking. Fill an ice cube tray or a plastic cup with some Bish Bash Beef broth and let it freeze.

For an extra vitamin kick and even more crunching fun, you can add healthy vegetables like cucumber pieces or another favorite treat before freezing. This savory snack provides extra hydration and a welcome cooldown all at once, perfect as a reward between meals.

    2. The Frozen Slow-Feeder

Instead of just putting food in a bowl, spread our Butternut Box meals onto a slow-feeder. To make things even more exciting, you can press our naturally delicious snacks into the mixture. Freeze everything for about 1–2 hours.

Your dog will then be able to lick the frozen food out of the grooves, which gently cools the body from the inside and provides long-lasting enrichment. Licking also has a calming effect, and the cold makes the fun last twice as long.

    3. The Classic: Ice Kong

The Kong is the undisputed king of dog toys. The perfect summer idea: fill it with freshly cooked food from Butternut Box and pop it in the freezer.

Want an upgrade? Try the "Dog Lasagna":

    • First, crumble a few of our Peanut Butter Golden Oaties for a crunchy base.

    • Layer a portion of our freshly cooked meals on top.

    • Top it off with a splash of Bish Bash Beef broth.

Repeat the layers until the Kong is stuffed full.

The benefit: When frozen, the licking fun lasts up to 30 minutes, the ideal activity during the midday heat.

    4. Cookie Diving

A fun water game for the garden or balcony:

Scatter a few floatable dog biscuits in a shallow dog pool or a water bowl. Your dog has to carefully "fish" them out. This encourages playful water intake, cools down the snout, and is simply great fun.
