We’ve asked the Irish members of our squad to put together some recommendations of their favourite dog-friendly cafes across Ireland. No need to leave your pooch at home, these cafes are geared up for their arrival. Expect lots of attention, hugs and endless treats… for your pup of course.

1. The Dog House & Blue’s Tea Room - Howth, Dublin

It’s often a good sign when a cafe has the word dog in its name and for this spot, the assumption runs true. Affectionately named after the owners’ beloved dog Blue, you can be sure that your dog will be welcomed here with open arms (and a menu of their own).

Reservations can be made online via their website.

2. The Lough Cafe - The Lough, Cork

When it comes to all of the best things in life; good coffee, good food and dogs… lots of dogs, The Lough Cafe has them all. Their sweet treats are especially enticing. Cinnamon buns, we see you.

They even have an Instagram highlight dedicated solely to the wonderful pooches that grace the cafe, so be sure to tell your pup to prepare for their close up.

3. Our Boy Bailey - Dunboyne, Meath

The owners of Our Boy Bailey are also proud pup parents and named the café after their adorable Cockapoo, whose name is, you guessed it, Bailey. This spot is where aesthetic and good food come together. Think everything from potato hash and breakfast burritos, to beef brisket brioche and classic mac 'n' cheese... our mouths are watering too. Veggies, vegans and gluten-free diets are also well catered to here, with a number of options to choose from.

Make sure your dog stops to get a paw-laroid photo taken, so that they can join the pooch wall of fame.

Our Boy Bailey operates on a first-come, first-serve basis, they do not accept bookings and recommend getting there early to avoid disappointment.

4. Two Boys Brew - Phibsborough, Dublin

Having always had a dream of opening their own cafe, Kevin & Taurean found themselves doing just that in 2015. After living in Melbourne and travelling around many other cities in Aus, they brought home a wealth of knowledge on what constituted great coffee and food, for that matter. As two devoted dog lovers, they understand that pet parents want to bring their dogs everywhere, and that includes lunch. So you can guarantee that your dog will feel at home here.

Two Boys Brew operates on a walk-in basis, with a small number of email bookings available for groups of 6+.

✔️ Dogs allowed indoors

Following the success of their first cafe, Two Boys Brew have opened a second location, Milos, in Drumcondra. Details on this spot can be found below.

Describing themselves as ‘doggo obsessed’ it’s fair to say that bringing your pup to The Buttery will make their day. This spot goes one step further by hosting an annual Doggy Brunch in aid of Limerick Animal Welfare, so they get a big thumbs (paws) up from us.
