Springer Spaniels are among the most popular dog breeds in the UK, and it's easy to see why. Loving, playful and energetic, they make fantastic pets – especially if you like the idea of a four-legged companion who'll keep you fit. They're also cheery and even-tempered, which makes them a great choice for busy family homes.
With their long coats and distinctive markings, Springers know they're adorable and are more than able to turn on the charm. Giving them the right food will help to keep their fur glossy, as well as giving them the energy they need for a good game of fetch in the park.

Springer Spaniels are gun dogs. They're bred to sniff out and flush game from the undergrowth, retrieving it once it's been shot. We don't think that's right, so we only use single-source meats and thoroughly clean our kitchens between recipes, to prevent cross-contamination.

Obesity is one of the biggest health issues facing British pets, but being underweight can be just as problematic. It's all about finding the healthy balance, and unfortunately, off-the-shelf dog foods tend to have a 'one size fits all' approach to portion sizes.
A high-voltage Springer might need more calories than less active dogs of the same size, so following pack instructions could leave your pet feeling peckish. Which could result in a spot of ferreting around in the bin or begging for scraps at the dinner table.
