Crufts 2024 is upon us and we’re pleased to announce that Butternut Box will be attending the event as an official sponsor.

Our squad will be there all weekend to help educate pooch parents on all things fresh food, as well as providing tasters and fun activities for all those who stop by for a visit.

What is Crufts?

Crufts is the biggest annual dog show in the world. So it’s kind of a big deal.

When is Crufts?

Crufts 2024 is taking place from Thursday 7th March to Sunday 10th March.

Where is Crufts Held?

Crufts 2024 is being held at the NEC in Birmingham. It has been held there since 1991, meaning this year will mark a whopping 34 years.

Breeds at Crufts

Crufts have launched Crufts Entries which allows you to see the exact number of entries for each breed, as well as the total number of dogs competing in each section.

Golden Retrievers hold the top spot with a total of 653 entries (538 competing), closely followed by Labrador Retrievers with 623 entries (519 competing) and Cocker Spaniels with 476 entries (421 competing).

Crufts 2024 Schedule

Crufts is taking place across 4 days, from Thursday 7th March to Sunday 10th March.

The main halls are open from 8:15am until 6:30pm. As well as the main arena events, there are lots of other things taking place throughout the weekend. For the full schedule, head to their What's On section.

Can You Take Your Dog to Crufts?

Sadly not.

Only dogs that are competing and have been invited to Crufts by The Kennel Club can attend. Assistance dogs are permitted.

Why is Butternut Box Sponsoring Crufts?

Crufts is the annual meeting point for dog lovers, demonstrating the universal love for humankind’s best friend. Over 19,000 dogs will be competing at Crufts, some of which are proud Butternutters. By the way, that is the term we use to describe the happy and healthy dogs that subscribe to Butternut Box.

Keeping our pups around for as long as possible is something we can all get behind. Part of doing this means helping them to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Dog experts alike will agree that regular exercise and quality nutrition are the two things we should be barking the loudest about. With so much advice on the subject, it can be difficult to decide what’s best for your dog and their unique needs.

We care about ensuring that all dogs, regardless of their breed, whether mixed or pedigree, are fed the best possible food.

Spreading the Word About Fresh Food

At Butternut Box our goal is very simple. We want to do our best to make sure that everyone understands the benefits of feeding their dog a fresh diet.

What is fresh food? We hear you ask. Fresh dog food is made using human-quality ingredients, gently cooked at 90 degrees, and then frozen to lock in the goodness. We never bulk our food out with nasty additives or preservatives. Our recipes are taste-tested not just by our team of dogs, but humans too, because we believe that dogs deserve better.

Some of our fan favourites include Chicken You Out, Wham Bam Lamb and Pork of the Town. All of which contain 60% meat. The rest of the ingredients include things like protein-packed quinoa, lentils, fresh vegetables and dried herbs. We even have a vegetarian recipe, Ready Steady Veggie, and a plant-based recipe, Plant Get Enough.

What’s more, our pouches are perfectly portioned. Our specially-designed algorithm will gather information from you about your dog, such as their breed, age, body type, activity level, and any health conditions that they may have. We’ll then be able to decide which recipes will be best for your dog’s wellbeing.

Let’s say, for example, that you’ve told us your dog falls within the ‘little chubby’ category, our low fat meals and a slightly reduced portion size will be recommended. Similarly, if your dog is within the senior age category, our Wham Bam Lamb meal is likely to be recommended due to the inclusion of turmeric in the recipe, which is perfect for helping ease joint pain and inflammation.

Dog and box delivery day

We are a dog food subscription company. This means that all you have to do is choose from a selection of twelve delicious recipes, decide on a delivery date and watch as your dog listens in anticipation for the doorbell to ring. Whilst quality nutrition will always be at the heart of Butternut Box, we also want to ensure that we’re providing convenience, choice and delight.

So that’s exactly why we’re sponsoring Crufts. To spread the woof about all of the good things we do and hopefully welcome lots of new Butternutters to the pack.

Where to Find Butternut Box at Crufts

There may be over 500 trade stands at Crufts, but we find it hard to believe that you would miss our stand. Just in case, we will have a giant version of our iconic Butternut Box hanging from the ceiling. It’s pretty wagnificent.

Find us at one of our five stalls, located in each hall at the event.

  • Hall 1 - Stand 60
  • Hall 3 - Stand 72 (main stand)
  • Hall 4 - Stand 54

What Can You Expect to See at Our Stall?

Beep beep, fresh food coming through. Get ready to try some of our delicious recipes served up directly from our Butternut Box taste truck. As our food is human-quality and delicious, there's no judgement if you want to try our food out for yourself.

Our giant Bowl of Truth will be back for a second year. One half of this giant dog bowl will be filled with unrecognisable, mystery ingredients commonly found in dry kibble and wet food. Your guess is as good as ours on this one. On the other side of the bowl, we invite you to compare this with the ingredients found in our food. This is where you’ll find things like quality meat, fresh vegetables, lentils and herbs.

There will also be an opportunity to explore our interactive wall displays, which will test your Butternut Box knowledge. There's prizes up for grabs, so make sure you're paying close attention.

Appearances From Verity Hardcastle

We will be joined by Verity Hardcastle, Master Groomer & Trainer, TV Feature Presenter & Judge and Published Author.

Verity will be at our main stand (Hall 3 - Stand 72) on Saturday 9th March, helping us out with the following events:

  • 10:30am - Pawsitively Healthy: How to Health Check Your Dog at Home
  • 12:30pm - Full grooming demonstration
